Q & A about cabinet refacing…
What is cabinet refacing?
Cabinet refacing is a process where the cabinet doors, drawer fronts and cabinet moldings are removed and discarded leaving only the box and framework. The existing box and framework are then covered with new wood veneer. New custom cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and moldings are then put on the existing cabinets. All veneers, custom solid wood doors and moldings are stained and finished at our shop prior to installation. This eliminates the mess of finishing in your home.
How much does it cost to reface my cabinets?
As a general rule, cabinet refacing is approximately half the cost of new cabinets.
Are subcontractors hired to do the refacing process?
No. The refacing process is done by company owners.
Can new cabinets be added to our existing kitchen cabinet layout?
Yes. Over 50% of our customers add new cabinets, pantries, or islands to their kitchen layout. This is what’s unique about BTI Construction since we offer both custom cabinets and cabinet refacing we can combine the two processes to transform your kitchen into your dream kitchen on different budget levels.
Who installs the sinks, appliances and electrical?
We have licensed plumbers and electricians who install according to city code.
What type of guarantee for refaced cabinets do you offer?
All material and workmanship is guaranteed for one year from date of completion, with the exception of concealed Euro-hinges which are guaranteed for as long as you own your home.
Why do you install all new countertops?
Laminating over existing countertops voids every laminate manufacturer’s warranty and there is a chance the existing laminate could lift and bubble. We choose to exceed industry standards and install new counter tops made of laminate, solid surface, quartz or granite.
What type of wood can we choose?
Alder, ash, birch, cherry, hickory, knotty pine, mahogany, maple, oak or paint grade poplar
What door styles are available?
We have over 30 designs of flat panel, raised panel, flat solid wood, and European laminate. Glass can be placed in the raised panel, flat panel and solid wood doors with or without mullions.
